Rahway, NJ — Independent Candidate for Mayor 2026
Radical Transparency. Real Accountability. Rooted Community.
Artist. Grandmother. Former EMT. Small Business Owner. Community organizer. Rahway resident. I am running for Mayor because our city deserves leadership that answers to the people, not to party machines or private interests.
About Hope
When I saw the water up for sale, I knew I had to step up.
I've spent my life in service. I worked as an EMT at UMDNJ EMS and EMTAC in Newark, including during the events of September 11th. I left EMS shortly after to do the most important job of my life, raising my son, who was born with multiple disabilities. His complex needs required my full presence, and I gave it without hesitation. In 2012 I started Le Bretzel as a ghost kitchen before most people even knew what that was, and with nothing but determination I grew it until a small investment from a friend made it possible to open a brick and mortar restaurant in Elizabeth several years later. I know firsthand what it takes to build something from nothing. I work with my hands, I make art from reclaimed materials, and I drive for Lyft because that's just what you do.
I am a registered Democrat and have been my whole life, but not because I fit neatly into that box. The truth is I never fit neatly into either one. I have voted both ways over the years because I vote for people, not parties. I stayed registered Democrat because I believe in participating in the full democratic process, including the primaries. I also believe independents should have that same right. Rahway deserves someone who works for the people, not special interest groups, corporations, or the party machines. That is why I am running as an independent.
For the past several years I've been doing the deep work on myself. I know what it looks like to face hard truths and do something about them. That's exactly what I'm promising to do for this city.
The roots of Rahway are good. Together we can make sure this city works for every single resident, not for corporations, special interests, or anyone pulling strings behind closed doors.
Everybody in Rahway will have a seat at my table.

The Platform
Not promises. Not talking points. A framework built from listening to this community and understanding what Rahway actually needs to grow and thrive for everyone who lives here.
Root 01
Rahway's water belongs to Rahway's residents. Not to a private equity firm. Not to a utility conglomerate. I will fight to keep public water publicly controlled, fully transparent, and accountable to the people who drink it.
Root 02
Development should serve the people who already live here. We need real affordability, anti-displacement protections, and housing policy that keeps long-term residents from being priced out of the city they built.
Root 03
Rahway's flood risk is rising and our stormwater infrastructure has not kept pace. The Army Corps of Engineers has documented what residents already know: the Rahway River is a threat to homes and neighborhoods. I will prioritize flood resilience, real stormwater management, and a serious response to rising water that protects every part of this city.
Root 04
Police are not mental health workers. We need embedded mental health professionals in our city services, schools, and community response teams so that people in crisis get care, not punishment.
Root 05
Arts and culture are not decoration. They are economic drivers and community glue. I will champion a real arts district in Rahway that supports local artists, attracts creative businesses, and makes this city a destination.
Why Independent
"Radical transparency is not a slogan. It is a commitment. Every decision I make as Mayor will be made in the open, with the community at the table."
The two-party system in Rahway is not delivering for Rahway residents. When the same political insiders cycle through positions, when party counsel represents both the city and the party in legal matters, when water deals are struck without a disclosed dollar amount or public input, something is broken.
I am not running against a party. I am running for the residents who show up to council meetings with questions and get non-answers. For the people who have watched developers get sweetheart deals while renters get squeezed. For the neighborhoods that flood every time it rains heavily, and have been waiting for solutions for years.
Independent means I answer to you. That is not a talking point. It is the entire point.
Radical Transparency
This campaign operates in public. Here is what that means in practice.
All donations disclosed. All expenditures disclosed. You can see exactly who is funding this campaign and how every dollar is spent.
When I investigate city contracts, property deals, or political conflicts of interest, I share what I find publicly, with sourced documentation.
I will not make private agreements with developers, political donors, or party officials in exchange for support. That is not how this campaign works.
Every major policy decision will include public input. Not a checkbox. A real process with real community voice before anything is finalized.
